This piece was a narrative assemblage piece, meaning I sculpted or assembled objects around a main story. I chose the story of my eating disorder to make a sculpture. It’s been something that I have been living with since the beginning of high school, that has recently resurfaced. All of the objects featured in the sculpture have a deeper meaning based on my experiences that tied me with them, the main object being the scale that I used as a base

This piece is centered around my idea of creativity. Initially, the sculpture was going to be a whole clay bust but I ended up disliking it and starting over. I didn’t use any reference to create this piece, I mainly just went off of what I knew about the human figure and face to sculpt a relatively realistic human figure

Apocalypse
This work was created with inspiration from the global pandemic, as well as inspiration from an upcoming (at the time) video game that was particularly important to me. With not being able to go places, at the time I tended to view the world, from outside my window as a barren empty wasteland, one that was overgrown and lacked the livelihood of our regular lives, while still being the beautiful Earth that we all know and love.

Quarantine
Inspired by the events of the last year, specifically the ever so present global pandemic, I decided to create a piece that represented or alluded to the dangerous health crisis everyday people are facing across the globe. As someone who luckily didn't have a direct relation to the virus, I thought it was important to represent, for people that couldn’t the struggles individuals and their families went through when dealing with the CoronaVirus

School has always been something I found particularly difficult. The issue didn’t come from the academics, however, rather the people and the crowds that come with this particular learning environment. I prefer, most of the time, to be left in solitude, I work best alone. In this case, I wanted to create an image of the school hallways that I know, but empty, how my brain and social battery would prefer it.

City
This piece of my exhibition is a drawing of a cityscape that I created without a reference. The inspiration for this piece came from another recent video game that created a dystopian retro-futuristic world for you to explore. All of the lines were drawn freehand which leads most of them to not be straight but my intention was for it to look free-handed.

Green
After being inspired by watching a Studio Ghibli film, I decided I wanted to create a piece in a similar style using bright colors. I created this off a reference picture of a forest/landscape and used the lighting pictured in the photo to create a piece using much more vibrant colors. This work was created using just gouache and is one of my first attempts in using such. The end result turned out much better than I expected.
